I want to share something a little personal with you guys.

While I was in Italy, I caught a terrible cold, and it’s taken me a lot longer than normal to recover because I have an autoimmune disease called limited scleroderma, also known as CREST.

The picture of my hands shows something called Raynaud’s disease, which is actually one of the reasons I’m a snowbird. (The other is that my mom lives in Florida, and she battles lupus as well.)

I’ve been trying to find a balance between managing this page, traveling, going out to eat and doing all the things I love, but this past year has been a little harder on me.

So you may see me recycling some of my favorite food and travel finds because I’m just not going to be able to go out or travel quite as much for a while.

I love sharing all the good food with you, and I really appreciate every single one of you who follows along with your Snowbird Bestie. ❤️

You know when a restaurant completely surprises you? That was @theeastendpvd in Providence for me last night.

I wasn’t even trying to eat gluten-free, but everything I ordered just happened to be—and you would NEVER know it. Everything was fantastic.

So, to all my gluten-free people: put this place straight to the top of your list. And if you’re not gluten-free? Put it at the top of your list anyway.

Every dish was so unique, packed with flavor, and had so much depth. This one seriously impressed me, and I already can’t wait to go back.

It’s my birthday, and your Snowbird Bestie had one mission: try a new-to-me lobster roll.

I finally made it to @blountclamshackwaterfront , and I definitely picked a good one. The lobster roll was huge, the fried clams and clam cakes were incredible, and I’ll 100% be back.
